Black Box Special

The Black Box Lunch is Dottie's ode to the more commonly known Shoebox Lunch. Once a tool used for avoiding conflict while consuming food and lunch during travel and work for African Americans during the Jim Crow Era, the Black Box Lunch has become a strong symbol of resilience, as it provided another layer of precaution and security that simultaneously commanded practicality, discretion, and dignity to peacefully consume the delicious delicacies we all love while on the move. Served exclusively during Black History Month.
